I graduated from Auburn University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to work in the medical field. When I entered nursing school, I was convinced that there was only one area of nursing for me, and critical care was certainly not it. To my vast surprise, from the moment I began my clinical rotations in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units, I knew that this was where I wanted to work.
I consider myself very blessed to have landed in Auburn's BSN program. I grew up near Louisville, Kentucky, and came to Auburn on scholarship. My original major was pre-med, but I decided to switch to nursing by my second semester because I knew it would offer me more flexibility. It was only after switching my major and applying to nursing school that I really began learning about all that a BSN degree from Auburn could offer me. I now have the opportunity to further my education with a graduate degree in nursing and feel that I have gained a well-rounded undergraduate education. I am also very proud to graduate from a respected university that is known for producing prepared graduate nurses who have had a variety of clinical experiences.

Something as simple as taking a blood pressure has to be learned and practiced!

My first day in the Auburn Uniform. I cannot believe how quickly the past 2 years have gone by and how much I have learned.
